Latest Update: August 23rd- Interior Progress The Main House - Creations' Latest Project From Permit to Completion - watch the progress by tuning in here to get updates. What is The Main House? The building has approximately 8,000 square feet so we will have 6 bedrooms upstairs (each with it's own bath!!), an elevator to get you there and lots of room downstairs for sewing and quilting. We'll provide a list of the best restaurants in town so guests can have plenty of dining options.
This project is in the very early phase, but we can report that we have already gutted the inside AND we've gotten the permit for the remodeling. This was a major milestone - it was no small feat to get the plans approved by the city. Luckily our Project Manager, Linda Coffee, navigated us through the maze of city codes and the process went very smoothly and now We Have Our Permit! |

October 11th: But, Hill Country locals may notice something unusual about our parking lot and everyone may be a bit confused on their next visit! We RELOCATED the beautiful Crepe Mrytle trees that have stood in the parking lot for over 30 years. In an effort to make our parking lot easier to navigate, we have moved the beautiful trees to the end of the property along the sidewalk. We are very confident there will be happy there and are taking every measure to be sure they are. Here are a few pictures of the move in progress... |

Creations has purchased the building at 1021 Main Street (just across our parking lot) and will remodel it extensively to turn it into a retreat center, which will be called The Main House. 
You might recognize the current building at 1021 Main Street better from this angle, which is the view from Creations. 
To celebrate getting our permit (see it on the door to the left), we held an official Permit Party on Saturday, September 26th. The highlight of the party, aside from Mary's pound cake, was that we had our plans on display so everyone could see what we plan to do.
For fun, since we have NO IDEA when this project will be completed, we asked Permit Party guests and our E-Happenings subscribers to put in their guess for The Main House Completion Date. The person with the closest guess to our actual first event date will get a $100.00 gift certificate to Creations. It was interesting to see the range of guesses! 
We're excited to say the deconstruction phase of The Main House has begun! They have removed the brick--- boy did it come off easy--- just a couple of days. Now the guys taking it off might not think that it was easy, but it seemed quick to us. 
Here is the latest view of the side facing Creations.

Our webmaster, Sharon, visited us in mid December and was shocked to see the latest view of The Main House as she arrived! From this vantage point, it doesn't look like much has changed, unless you look carefully at the left side, where most of the upper story siding is gone.
But, if you look at the side facing Creations it becomes more obvious that deconstruction is well under way... 
And, if you look at the back - a whole section of the upper story (on the right) is gone!
And, she got a peek at the interior too. Here's a picture looking towards the front door. 
We've gotten a kick out of the fancy desk our contractor uses for the architectural plans... 
Here's another interior view from December 15th. 
Sharon was in for a bigger surprise on the afternoon of the 15th when she looked back across the parking lot. Here's the front view again. 
But, the back view was the real shock. At this rate, surely the "deconstruction phase" will be over soon and we'll be on to the "construction phase". 
This front view shows the roof is completely gone! Just a bit of siding remains on the front upper story. 
This side view makes it even more obvious that the entire roof is gone. From this side view it looks like not much of the original 2nd story is staying. 
This back view shows that the old spiral staircase is now gone and while there is still a little bit of 2nd story framing, all of the siding is gone.
