Wearable projects are our passion - especially clothes that feature easy to sew patterns in beautiful, high-quality fabrics. For clothing, we stock linens, rayons, woolens, tencel, denims, cottons and flannels. On this page you'll sometimes find Clothing Kits, but you'll always find sample garments highlighting the many sample clothing garments we've made with some of our favorite clothing patterns and fabrics. The patterns we've used in our samples are available on this page. You'll fnd many more of our favorite and most versatile patterns on our Wearable Patterns page. Children's Clothing Ideas
These sample garments show off a few children's pattern lines we've found - Portabellopixies. Their fresh and creative styling has been a real hit with our customers.

Light Floral Cotton Jacket over Lead Linen Pants and Blouse
Our Light Floral Jacket model is constructed of 54" wide, home dec weight, 100% cotton ($32.98/yard) using the Kwik Sew 3129 pattern ($12.98). It is paired with a top and pants made from 54" wide Lead Cabana Linen ($17.98/yard). The blouse is from the Kintamani Top and Tunic pattern from The Batik Butik ($14.98). The pants are Kwik Sew 2496 ($12.98). These patterns and fabrics are all offered below.

We pre-washed all of these fabrics in warm water and tossed them in a warm dryer - including the linen... and they look great.

By the way , the 54" wide linen is available in many colors, which are also offered below (after the next model garment).

Dark Floral Rayon/Linen Jacket over Teal Linen Pants and Blouse
Our Dark Floral Jacket model is constructed of 54" wide, home dec weight, 45% Rayon/55% Linen fabric ($29.98/yard) using the Kwik Sew 3129 pattern ($12.98, offered above). It is paired with a top and pants made from 54" wide Teal Cabana Linen ($17.98/yard). The blouse is from the Kintamani Top and Tunic pattern from The Batik Butik ($14.98, offered above). The pants are Kwik Sew 2496 ($12.98, offered above).

Ivanhoe Sussex Peppercorn Easy Swing Jacket
Our Ivanhoe Sussex Pepperscorn Easy Swing Jacket model combines the popular The Easy Swing Jacket pattern ($12.98) with the wonderful large fall floral, Ivanhoe Sussex Peppercorn, from Swavelle fabrics.

The Ivanhoe Sussex Peppercorn ($29.98/yard) fabric, shown below, from Swavelle is a jacket weight 54" wide, 100% cotton. The muted fall colors on a light neutral background give this jacket a look that can be worn fall through spring.

Wilmington Trapeze Topper and Galapagoes Fiesta Jacket
These two colorful jackets will brighten up your fall days. Our Wilmington Trapeze Topper model, on left, features the 54" wide, 50% rayon/ 50% linen Wilmington fabric ($21.98)from Covington in the Trapeze Topper pattern ($13.98) from Indygo Junction.

Our Galapagoes Fiesta Jacket model uses Kwik Sew 3732 and a jacket weight 54" wide, 100% cotton Galapagoes Fiesta fabric from Swavelle.

Sherpa Jacket
The extra cold temperatures in Texas this year make us very glad that we still carry these wonderful Sueded Sherpa fabrics. The Sueded Sherpa ($29.98 per yard) is a double sided fabric that is 60" wide.  You can toss it in the washer and dryer.  The fabric comes in several color options, which are all offered below: brown/brown, black/black, natural/natural, red/red as well as two-tone options: green/beige and brown/natural.

We've used this fabric for several years to make a Sherpa Vest using The Cardigan Jacket pattern, but this year we've made it into jackets using Kwik Sew pattern # 3358 ($11.98), designed specifically for the Sueded Sherpa fabric. Our sample Kwik Sew 3358 Sherpa Jacket, pictured left, took only about 3 hours to complete. The pattern includes sizes XS - XL.

This fabric would also make a great "throw"- just purchase 2 yards, turn the sherpa side to the suede side about 2" and edge stitch.  If you use your walking foot while sewing as well as a longer stitch length, you will have no probem in sewing with this fabric.
