Scrunchy Top Shoulder bag pattern

The Scrunchy Top Shoulder bag pattern ($10.98) from Seams and Dreams includes multiple sizes of this fun shoulder bag which shows off a contrasting fabric in the lining, straps and pocket. The elastic casing for the bag top is created with the contrasting lining fabric.

We created our sample using 2 twill cotton fabrics from Alexander Henry's Sew On! fabric line. (We offer 3 of the fabrics below.) The bag we made was the large size and the fabric runs in such a way that you need 1 3/8 yards for the outer bag, and 1 5/8 yards for the lining, straps and outer pocket.  The Sew On! fabrics ($14.98/yard) are 44" wide, twill weight cotton.

This bag, as the name implies, is actually a new diaper bag pattern. But, it would makea great bag for organization as it has 8 elasticized inside pockets. The bag is 14" x 20" x 9" so it will hold lots of stuff. The Mama Mia pattern sells for $14.98.

Our Mama Mia bag model, shown below, would be equally nice for a diaper bag or everyday use.

Amy Butler Field Bag and Tote pattern
The Amy Butler Field Bag and Tote pattern ($12.95) creates a roomy bag that can be made with or without a zippered closure. The bag is 15 1/2" tall (excluding the handles) and 5 1/2" across. At the widest point towards the bottom it is 27 1/4" narrowing down to about 18" at the top of the bag.

Boy will you be able to carry some stuff with this bag! Our sample bag, right, uses fabrics that are just as bold as the bag is big. Think weekend getaway or beach bag. Of course, it could always be a great quilting and sewing bag - it has a bunch of pockets inside.

We created a bold purse using Kwik Sew #3612 ($12.98) which allowed us to really show off a patchwork of some great fabrics.
