Creations was established in 1978 during the "polyester doubleknit era". I (Kathy) opened the doors with all natural fibers -- not one "poly" among us!! That was quite revolutionary during the 70's. We were often told, "I'll be back when you get some doubleknit!" We didn't and we're not sure if they did. | |

We added quilting cottons to our inventory in the early 80's, but we never lost touch with our love for clothes sewing -- sometimes you need a little instant gratification. We're finding that lots of others who have been away from clothes construction are "coming home" too. In the mid 80's, I was joined by my sister, Julie. She brought with her all those "business skills" that are so necessary. Recently we decided to incorporate and both have become equal shareholders. |

In the early 90's, we opened a second store From Our House to Yours, located in the historic Rawson home, built circa 1895. That store specialized in home decorating - home dec fabrics, new and old quilts - antiques and accessories for the home and garden and was well known for the frozen cappuccino we offered customers. |

We speak of it here in the past tense, because we recently decided to combine the two businesses. So, From Our House to Yours closed in January of 2000. The historic Rawson home has been remodeled and is the new home of Creations. We've carried on the traditions known to the house... |

Yes, we continue to have the frozen cappuccino - and we have a nice little sun porch where customers can relax with their cappuccino. As shown here, Tootie is in charge of watching over the secret "recipe" for our frozen cappuccino. |

And, we continue another popular tradition - the annual Victorian Parlour Cats display. They appear yearly from just before Thanksgiving to just after Christmas. At the same time each year you'll find them pictured in the Special Events section of our web site. |

Something else has changed in the last 25 years. For years after we opened, when people asked us "where is your stop located?", we'd inevitably get a followup question, "Kerrville, where is that?". Now most people respond, "Oh, Kerrville, how lucky you are to live there! I love it there!". And we agree - it is a great place to live and work and lots of fun to visit! So, come see us soon... |
