Sewing

We stock linen, bali rayon, silks, cottons, knits and other great clothing fabrics. We also love to use home dec weight fabrics to create jackets and skirts. We also carry specialty fabrics like Minkee and laminated fabrics that are great fun to work with. We even have some fabrics that are great for children's clothing, so be sure to look for that too.

We carry sewing patterns and books for both women's and children's clothing as well as "accessories" like aprons, pillows and more.

Wool kits and hand dyed wool

Wool Stuff

We carry hand-dyed wool and wool applique kits as well as patterns and books for a variety of wool applique styles. We love the hand-dyed wools from Mary Flanagan that feature traditional wool suiting fabrics that have been over-dyed in gorgeous colors. Our hand-dyed wools and wool kits from Wooly Lady feature such vibrant, luscious colors that they are quite inspiring.

Hand Stitchery

Hand Stitchery

The popularity of hand stitchery like redwork and backstitch or outline embroidery never seems to fade and we've found quite a few pattern designers that know just how to add a modern touch to this classic style. These designs look great in projects from tea towels to wall hangings and even work well in quilts.

Our online selection of patterns and books include themes related to holidays, gardening, and Texas as well as designs for wool stitchery.

Visit our Hand Stitchery department to check out our online offerings.

Machine Embroidery

Embroidery machines have made it easy to stitch colorful, elaborate embroidery designs on everything you can imagine. We love the simplicity and speed of stitching single designs onto the blank linens we carry such as homespun towels. We also have a colorful selection of linen napkins and towels. Visit our Embroidery Blanks page for our online selection.

We carry Machine Embroidery CDs in the store and offer a few of our favorites online. We love the whimisical machine embroidered applique designs from Lunch Box Quilts. A new favorite design company is Anna's Awesome Applique Designs - their Fiesta de Talavera, designed by Michelle Watts is a beautiful quilt. Visit our Machine Embroidery Design CDs page to find a selection of some of our favorites as well as pictures of some of the fun samples we've stitched from them.

Neat stuff

Neat Stuff

We find many other products that our customers will love, so we've created a Neat Stuff category. Jewelry is one of our favorite accessories.  A new necklace can be just the thing for a new outfit.

We also love the  beautiful Renaissance ribbons that can be used to embellish quilts, clothing, purses and more. Speaking of purses, we just keep finding great designs for purses, bags and totes and we make sure to keep a good selection of these online.

Visit our Neat Stuff department to get an overview of our Neat Stuff categories or use the Shop Online menu categories (on the left) to explore a specific category of Neat Stuff.

Creations Bluebonnet Batik fabric from Hoffman

Texas Themed Fabrics, Patterns, Machine Embroidery, books & More

Over the years, we've found that Texas and Western themed products are very popular in the store. Between the fanatic Texans that live here and the people who visit when they come to the Texas Hill Country, they just can't get enough of Texas stuff! So we are constantly on the lookout for great fabrics, quilt and hand stitchery patterns, books, cookbooks and accessories. Here on the website, we've corralled them all on our Celebrate Texas! page and our Texas Wildflowers page so you can be sure to find them easily.

Speaking of Texas Wildflowers, that fabric on the right is our very own Creations' Bluebonnet Batik in 100% cotton. This beautiful batik features our own bluebonnet design and is only available from Creations.

Creations has neat stuff throughout the store.

More Neat Stuff in Store!

We encourage you to personally visit Creations in Kerrville! We love to meet people and to help you find the perfect treasures. We're known for all of the "Neat Stuff" scattered throughout our store. Unfortunately many of these items just aren't appropriate to offer online -- you'll want to see them in person. For instance, we offer jewelry, scarves, purses and even hats - we love the flair they add to our clothing models - and our customers love them too!

Other items we carry are just too big or fragile to ship so we don't offer them online. For instance we also love to decorate the store with gorgeous antique spool cabinets - and every one is available for purchase.

Our newest great find is the Baggallini line of purses, bags and rolling totes. They are flying out of the store!

If you'd like to see more of the latest "Neat Stuff" we have in the store, be sure to take our Store Tour. Or better yet, plan a visit to the Texas Hill Country and Creations, so you can take something home with you.

Tootie the Fax Cat

Have You Heard About Tootie the Fax Cat?

Have you ever sent a fax and wondered if it arrived? At Creations you don't have to worry, our cats look after the fax machine. For many years we had a cat that personally delivered faxes to us if we were away from the machine when one arrived. You say you don't believe it? Well, take a look for yourself - here's Tootie delivering a fax during a class. Read the whole story and see more fun photos at: The Amazing (But True) Tale of Tootie the Fax Cat .

Although she retired many years ago, the legacy of Tootie the Fax Cat lives on. She wasn't necessarily as customer-friendly as Domino, but she was quite the office assistant!
